The Wild Heart of Corbett

Corbett is one of India’s most recognised wildlife destinations, located in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand. At its heart is Jim Corbett National Park, established in 1936 and now part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve. It is especially famous for its Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, leopards, deer and rich birdlife, with the reserve supporting more than 600 types of birds.

The landscape combines sal forests, grasslands, rivers, streams and forested foothills, creating a varied setting for wildlife safaris. November to February is a popular period for cooler weather and wildlife experiences, while April to mid-June can be particularly suitable for animal sightings. Park access is seasonal, with official tourism information noting a closure period from 15 June to 15 November for the national park.

Corbett is also known for its comfortable range of forest lodges, resorts and private stays around the park, offering options for different travel styles and budgets.
